Dear friends,
The Shuva Jewish Studies Center Midrasha in Ofra was established 23 years ago by Rabbi Moshe and Rivka Shapira, among the founders of Ofra.
Throughout the years of its existence, the Shuva’s hundreds of young women students have developed and realized themselves in Torah and faith, devotion to the Jewish people and the Land of Israel.
In Shuva, we place a major emphasis on extensive and in-depth study of the Bible, halacha, Jewish philosophy, Hassidism and the thoughts of Rav Kook. This comes in addition to the fostering of a deep, personal relationship with each of the students, social activities and special attention to the state of women and mothers in these times. Many of Shuva’s graduates have decided to make their home in Ofra, Amona and many of the other Jewish communities of Judea and Samaria.
Shuva has developed a unique Beit Midrash program that continues its ties with its graduates, through courses in teaching and education. That Beit Midrash is called Pnima, based on the insight that in order to shape a new generation of educators and leaders, one must turn inward – Pnima – to the fountains of Torah and Judaism. We believe that the Jewish people needs devoted and highly skilled educators on the highest level, with a heightened Torah awareness and a great deal of faith and love.
Sadly, for plainly political reasons, vital funding provided in the past to religious Midrashot in Israel has been stopped and cut off. This reality places the continued existence of Shuva in real danger, and we do not know how we will be able to continue our work for the study of Torah and the education of Shuva’s current and future students.
We are appealing to you to become true partners of our Beit Midrash. Your generous donation will help us to fill Israel with homes illuminated with the light of Torah and love of Israel, and enable the Pnima Beit Midrash to continue to help shape the education and future of our children.
With G-d’s help, we will continue to work and succeed.
